Aer Lingus is set to resume services on its Shannon to London Heathrow route from next month without a morning flight however.
The airline has already confirmed the closure of its cabin crew base at the Mid-West airport which means, without an aircraft based in Shannon, the service will be operated by Dublin-based staff.
The carrier had previously operated the popular service three times a day with an early morning service. However, according to the Aer Lingus website, from September 13th, there will be just one daily flight.
EI-385 will depart London Heathrow at 14:45 and arrive in Shannon at 16:10 on Monday through Friday and Sunday.
EI-385 will depart London Heathrow at 14:20 and arrive in Shannon at 15:45 on Saturdays.
EI-386 will depart Shannon at 17:00 and arrive in London Heathrow at 18:25 every day.
The flights appeared for booking on the Aer Lingus website and app in recent days.
Aer Lingus confirmed: “Due to the closure of the runway at Cork Airport, a daily Aer Lingus service from Shannon to London Heathrow will commence on September 13th, and it is intended to operate for the duration of the period of the closure of the runway at Cork Airport. The aircraft and crew operating the service will be based in Dublin.”
