Christmas Fun at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park

If you are looking for fun family activity that will bring you and your children Christmas cheer, you have the pick among Bunratty Castle’s Christmas events until early January.

The season kicks off with a festive family breakfast with Santa Claus himself in the Bunratty Castle Banquet Hall. On Saturday, the 1st and Sunday the 2nd from 10 to 11am mingle with Santa and his favourite Elves as your children enjoy their pancakes with strawberries and chocolate sauce and you have a hearty breakfast ‘blaa’ with tomato relish, sausages, a rasher and black pudding.

For €15.00 per adult and €13.50 per child, you can enjoy a cheerful family breakfast in the majestic surroundings of Ireland’s most complete and authentic castle. Cross the castle drawbridge, where you will be warmly welcomed Santa’s Elves and take in the beauty of the castle as you enter the Banquet hall. Once breakfast has started, Santa will appear on the balcony and then join in the caroling and merriment at the breakfast tables.

Between Saturday, November 24th and Sunday December 23rd, the traditional village street at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park will turn into a Christmas wonderland with festive decorations, shops of treats and Christmas fare, and all of your favourite Christmas characters. Have fun on the carousel, listen to the tales of the Folk Park story teller and watch the fabulous puppet theatre. For a magical winter experience, make sure to circle Bunratty Folk Parks newest Holiday highlight – the ice rink right in the centre of Bunratty Folk Park!

Your ice-skating adventure can be booked in conjunction with your trip to Santa’s Grotto to make you feel like you have been transported straight to the North Pole. Skate around the ice rink before or after you come and see Santa Claus and his Elves and don’t forget to visit Mrs. Claus in her kitchen as she prepares everything for the big night. For €15.00 per adult, €30.00 per child and €7.00 per baby, you and your family can have a magical day in Bunratty’s Christmas village, complete with a Santa visit.

Another highlight of the festive season is the Christmas Evening Banquets, Shannon Heritage’s special festive season programme which captures the essence ofChristmas for all ages to enjoy. The fun doesn’t have to end after Christmas.
