Two villages in East Clare experienced an added burst of colour thanks to new flower boxes planted in vibrant hues. FuturEnergy Ireland’s donations to Bodyke Tidy Towns and Tuamgraney Development Association prompted the new nature additions in both parishes.
In Bodyke, the Tidy Towns group added new flower boxes planted with beautiful flowers and seats in the church grounds thanks to sponsorship from the renewable energy developer. This was a sustainable, considered project: the flower boxes and seats were purchased from Irish Recycled Products in Birr, Co. Offaly.
Betty O’Halloran from Bodyke Tidy Towns said: “Bodyke Tidy Towns committee are very thankful to FuturEnergy Ireland for sponsoring the seats and flower boxes in the village.”
Meanwhile in Tuamgreaney, the additional funds used for flower boxes meant other projects could be carried out. Damian Heaney, committee chairman of the Tuamgraney Development Association, and Mary Cassidy, committee secretary, explained how the funds supported more than just the flower boxes.
“This sponsorship enabled us to carry out additional work in the beautiful village of Tuamgraney and to part-sponsor the painting of a local heritage mural on the Croaghrum River wall,” they said.
FuturEnergy Ireland is developing Carrownagowan Wind Farm in the locality. The project has received planning permission and is in the pre-construction phase.
