Clare County Council welcomed The Mayor and Mayoress of Antrim & Newtownabbey to Áras Contae an Chláir on Saturday.
The courtesy call was part of their visit to County Clare to support the Hounds of Ulster who were performing during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Inis 2016.
As part of the Fleadh, The Whiteabbey (Antrim) based flute music group performed their own unique mix of traditional Irish, Scottish and Ulster-Scots tunes at a number of locations in Ennis including glór.
Cllr John Scott is the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey for 2016/17. He was first elected to serve as a member for Macedon in the Local Government Elections of 2005. In addition to senior Council roles, he is the only Councillor to have served on the Newtownabbey District Partnership, the Local Strategy Partnership and the CAN Peace III Cluster. His wife Audrey is the Mayoress of the region and accompanied him on his visit to Clare.
