Gardaí seek public’s assistance solving local crimes

Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage and theft that occurred around the county over the past week.

Investigating Gardaí are asking the public the come forward information if they know anything about any of these incidents or observed any suspicious activity in any of these areas.

Garda Eimear McDonagh of Ennis station outlined the circumstances of the incidents Gardaí are investigating.

Criminal Damage

Ennis

Ennis Gardaí are appealing for the public’s assistance regarding an incident of Criminal Damage that occurred in the Quin Road Industrial Estate between Tuesday night, 30th April at 11pm and Wednesday morning at 8am. If anyone today observed a person or a car acting unusual please contact Ennis Gardaí at 065 6848100.

Gardaí in Ennis are also investigating an attempt to cause criminal damage to a vehicle in Saint Michaels Villas at 1.09am on Thursday. Two males were observed trying to cause damage to a silver Audi A6 on St. Michaels Villas. The perpetrators were disturbed and fled the scene on foot. Gardaí arrived on scene and were able to put ensure that the vehicle wasn’t damaged.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed this incident to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.

Gardaí are appealing to the public’s assistance regarding criminal damage to a white Citroen DS5 in Castlewood Park. This damage took place between Tuesday evening, the 30th April at 6pm and Wednesday at midday.

A wing mirror was damaged and the trim around the driver’s door was damaged. If any members of the public observed anyone near a white Citroen in Castlewood Park between Tuesday evening and Wednesday at midday, please contact Ennis Garda Station at 065 6848100.

Meanwhile, two further incidents of criminal damage to cars occurred on Thursday night on Marian Avenue and Newbridge Road. A male in his 20’s was later identified by Gardaí and he was arrested and charged to appear before Ennis District Court this month.

Kilrush

Gardaí in Kilrush are investigating damage to a vehicle that happened on Francis Street between Thursday evening at 6pm and Thursday at midday. Gardaí in Kilrush are appealing to anyone that may have seen someone near a grey Hyundai Tuscon on Francis Street on Thursday evening or that night to contact Kilrush Garda Station on 065 9080550.

Thefts

Ennis

Gardaí in Ennis are investigating thefts from three vehicles last Tuesday night, the 30th April.

The first incident occurred in Fergus Manor on the Clon Road. A Seat Cordoba was broken into and a Dell laptop was taken from the vehicle. This theft took place between Tuesday evening at 5.30pm and Wednesday morning at 8.30am.

The second incident took place in the Ivy Hill estate on the Gort Road. A red Nissan Pulsar was entered between Tuesday evening at 8pm and Wednesday morning at 9.30am. A number of items were taken by the perpetrator including;

A grey golf bag,

Wet gear that is pink and white in colour and

A number of Callaway golf clubs including a set of rogue irons, ping driver and 5 wood. The golf clubs were subsequently recovered.

Another incident in Ennis took place in the Castle Lawn estate on the Tulla Road between Tuesday evening at 10.30pm and Wednesday morning at 8.30am. A red Kia Sportage was entered and items were taken including two pairs of designer glasses, Ray Ban and Dior.

Shannon

Gardaí in Shannon are appealing for the public’s assistance regarding the theft of 6 round bales of hay from a farm yard in the Belvoir area of Sixmilebridge. This theft occurred between Friday evening at 5pm and Saturday evening at 6pm.

Gardaí believe a tractor and trailer was used to steal the round bales and the Gardaí are asking anyone that observed a tractor and trailer with round bales on either Friday evening or Saturday morning to contact them at Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900.
