
A man is due in court this morning following an armed robbery at a retail premises in Bunratty yesterday.
Gardaà were called to the shop at around 2.30pm yesterday after a man entered the shop carrying a knife.
Staff were threatened before the raider left the scene on foot with a small amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.
Soon afterwards, Gardaà from Shannon detained a 32-year-old man and recovered a small amount of cash and a knife. A car was also seized as part of the investigation.
The man was taken to Ennis Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 for questioning.
He is expected to appear before a sitting of Ennis District Court this morning charged in connection with the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
