Revenue officers seize cannabis at Shannon Airport 

Revenue officers at Shannon Airport seized 4.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €90,000.

These seizures was one of three made by Customs officers in Dublin, Athlone and Shannon.

The find in Shannon was made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Harley.

The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels originating from the USA and were destined for addresses in Clare, Limerick and Cork.

A spokesperson for Revenue confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
