Ennis Gardaí are appealing to the public for their assistance with an incident where a teenager was robbed by two men.
Crime Prevention Officer for Clare Sergeant Catriona Holohan outlined the circumstances of the serious incident.
“An 18 year old male was approached by two males that were not known to him after he got off the bus in Ennis town centre at approximately half past twelve on Friday night/Saturday morning.
Two males then followed this young man and demanded money from him. They took his ATM card and walked with him to the AIB atm on Bank Place. They forced the injured party to enter his pin number and they withdrew money from his account.”
Sgt Holohan added: “The injured party ran and stopped a passing taxi at approximately 5 to 1 on Saturday morning. The taxi driver took him home. The injured party described the perpetrators as two males dressed in black puffa jackets.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed two men matching this description in Ennis town before or after this crime occurred to please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.”
