Two people were arrested during a follow-up operation after an incident involving at least one firearm in Kilrush on Friday night last.
Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the incident which occurred in the John Paul Estate in the town.
Crime Prevention Officer for Clare Sergeant Catriona Holohan outlined the circumstances of the incident.
“Kilrush Gardaí are investigating incidents of violence which included the discharge of a firearm or firearms in the Beech Park and Elm Drive areas of John Paul Estate last Friday night. Damage was caused to property.
A number of follow up searches were carried out in the Kilrush area on Saturday and two males were arrested in connection with these incidents. Investigations are continuing and Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed any of these incidents or who may have any information to contact Gardaí at Kilrush Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
