World renowned attorney Dean Strang addressed current law students in the University of Limerick at an event organised by the college this week.

‘An Evening With Dean Strang’ saw the legal expert who featured in the Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer discuss the convictions of Stephen Avery and Brendan Dassey; and the most common questions asked of lawyers.

Chaired by Professor Shane Kilcommins, head of UL’s School of Law saw Dean Strang participate in a question. He also addressed the features and faults of the United States legal system.

Only a handful of empty seats were visible at the event organised by the University of Limerick Law Society who wanted to gain an insight into the importance of correctly framing legislation to prevent a miscarriage of justice.
