An additional 31 Clare primary schools will have access to hot meals after the mid-term break, as part of a major expansion of the Hot School Meals Programme.
Welcoming the expansion for schools in Clare, Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney commented, “This programme, introduced by Fine Gael in 2019, is having a positive impact in schools across our county. I am delighted to see that a pilot programme of just 30 schools has now expanded to 2,850 primary schools throughout Ireland.”
Deputy Cooney added, “A hot school meal greatly benefits our children’s physical and mental health, as well as their educational output.”
He noted that the Department of Social Protection will be engaging with any primary schools not currently signed up, to encourage them to participate in the Programme.
The 30 additional Clare schools included in the Programme are: Ballynacally NS, Bridgetown NS, Broadford & Kilbane NS, Burrane NS, Caherea NS, Clonmoney NS, Clooney NS, Coolmeen NS, Cratloe NS, Crusheen NS, Doolin NS, Ennis NS, Kildysart NS, Kilkishen NS, Kilmihil NS, Kilmurry Mcmahon NS, Kilnaboy NS, Kilshanny NS, Knockanean NS, Knockerra NS, Liscannor NS, Mountshannon NS, Moyasta NS, O’Callaghans Mills NS, Ogonnelloe NS, Parteen NS, St Aidan’s NS Shannon, St Conaire’s NS Shannon, Stonehall NS, Toonagh NS, and Tuamgraney NS.
