One person has been hospitalised following a single-vehicle collision on the N18 near Shannon this morning.
The crash happened at around 6.00am near the Hurler’s Cross exit between junctions 7 and 8. It’s understood the car lost control and overturned before coming to a stop on its roof.
Three units of the fire brigade from Shannon Town along with three units from mobilised to the incident.

On arrival at the scene, fire crews found that the driver and sole occupant was out of his vehicle and being cared for by gardaí. Fire service first responders then treated the driver until ambulance paramedics arrived.
Fire crews also implemented emergency traffic management procedures to ensure the safety of emergency crews at the scene.
