A section of the N18 dual-carriageway that was closed for a short time this afternoon has been reopened.
Shortly before 3.00pm, emergency services were altered to an incident in the northbound lanes at Bunratty West close to the junction 6 slip-road.
A van left the road and crashed into the hedges and central crash barrier. The driver was uninjured.
Gardaà and Traffic Infrastructure Ireland (TII) motorway crews responded to the incident initially while units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station were also requested to attend.
When fire crews arrived at the incident, a short section of the dual-carriageway was closed so that the crashed vehicle could be safely removed from the scene.
Traffic was diverted up and over junction 6 flyover to re-join the N18 on the other side.
A number of National Ambulance Service resources, responding to another incident, were cleared to safely drive through the scene.
Once the van had been recovered from the scene, the route was fully reopened.
