Members of the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard assisted in the search for three people reported missing in forestry in Co Galway this morning.
The alarm was raised by the three males at around 8.00am when they got lost in in woodlands at Kylebrack south of Loughrea.
Gardaí requested assistance from Galway Mountain Rescue Team (GMRT) who sent personnel to the area while volunteers from the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard in Co Clare were also alerted and mobilised.
Gardaí and staff from the forestry agency Coillte also assisted with the search which involved several kilometres of walking tracks in a vast area of woodland.
Poor visibility at the search site prevented the Coast Guard from sending a helicopter to assist.
All three were found safe and well this afternoon following a six-hour search.
