A man remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in Gort last night.
The man in his 50’s was seriously injured following the incident at the Square in the town at around 7.00pm.

An ambulance from Galway along with local gardaí responded to the scene. The injured man was rushed to University Hospital Galway for emergency treatment. He remains in a serious condition today.
Gardaí preserved the scene overnight and carried out a forensic examination this morning.
Gardaí from Gort are investigating the incident.
