One person has been hospitalised following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis this morning.
The incident, involving a car and truck, occurred at around 11.30am on the N85 Western Relief Road at Claureen.
National Ambulance Service paramedics and GardaĆ responded to the scene along with units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station.
While paramedics assessed and the treated the casualty, fire crews implemented an Emergency Traffic Management system and were able safely keep one lane open while crews dealt with the incident.
One woman was transported to hospital for treatment however her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. While two ambulances attended the scene, no other injuries have been reported.
The route was fully reopened once a tow truck had recovered the car from the scene. The truck driver was able to continue his journey.
