One person has been airlifted to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in West Clare this evening.
The crash occurred shortly before 8.00pm at Moyadda More on the N68 about 5 kilometres on the Ennis side of Kilrush. It’s understood that a car and a van were involved.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Kilrush station responded to the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí.
The Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, was also tasked to the scene and was able to land in a field close to the incident.
One person has since be airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred at around 8pm this evening in Kilrush, Co. Clare.
Local diversions are currently in place.”
