Emergency services remain at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in East Clare this morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 7.00am on the R462 road between Cratloe village and Setright’s Cross. It’s understood that a car collided with a wall. The sole occupant of the vehicle is reported to have been seriously injured.
National Ambulance Service paramedics and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station responded to the scene along with Gardaí.
The road was immediately closed and a privacy scene erected around the vehicle pending the arrival of Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. An examination of the scene is expected to take place this morning.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours traffic is being diverted away from the scene via the Wood Road; Well Road and Sixmilebridge Road.
