Clare County Council is warning the public to avoid exposed coastal locations during Wednesday due to forecast stormy conditions.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange Alert for Clare, the second highest level of alert that the agency can issue.
The storm, named Ali under the new Met Éireann / UK Met Office storm naming system, will affect the county from Wednesday morning and winds will be at their strongest along the coasts. South to southwest winds veering westerly will increase to mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h with gusts between 110 and 120 km/h for a time in some areas.
Clare County Council is urging motorists to drive with caution and to be alert for any debris on roads during Wednesday.
