Two people escaped serious injury following a fire in Co Clare this evening.
The blaze was reported at around 5.00pm on the Kilrush road in Ennis. The road was closed to traffic while emergency crews dealt with the blaze.

Two units of the fire brigade from Ennis along with an ambulance and rapid response advanced paramedic unit rushed to the scene. Gardaà also attended the incident.
On arrival, paramedics found two people had safely exited the building which was by then engulfed in flames. The house was extensively damaged and left uninhabitable.
Both occupants were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalisation.
