Two hospitalised after North Clare road collision

Two people have been taken to hospital following a collision between a bus and a car in North Clare this afternoon.

The incident occurred on the N85 on the outskirts of Ennistymon at around 3.30pm. The collision resulted in the busy route being blocked for a time.

Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennistymon station responded to the scene along the Gardaí and several National Ambulance Service resources. Paramedics assessed the occupants of both vehicles.

It’s understood that there were a number of children on the bus however no injuries have been reported among them.

Two adults, believed to be the two drivers, were transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
