A short time later, emergency services were alerted to another road traffic incident involving a pedestrian on the Limerick Road close to the West County Hotel.

It’s understood that a man was struck by a vehicle at traffic lights. He was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to UHL for further treatment. It’s believed he suffered a head injury which is not thought to be life-threatening.

The National Ambulance Service and Gardaí attended all three incidents along with units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station.
