Young man dies following Shannon scrambler bike accident

A man in his 20s, seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Co Clare on Saturday, has died in hospital.

GardaĆ­ in Shannon have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the single-vehicle collision that occurred in Shannon, Co. Clare, shortly after 11:30pm on Saturday, 21st March.

GardaĆ­, National Ambulance Service paramedics and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station responded to the scene.

The collision involved an electric scrambler and occurred on Bóthar Na Luachra in Shannon. A male in his early 20s was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.  He was pronounced deceased yesterday, Tuesday 24th March 2026.

GardaĆ­ are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating GardaĆ­.
