There was hardly even standing room in the Templegate Hotel last night where local businesses gathered to hear details of the traffic plan for Fleadh Cheoil Na hÉireann.
Clare County Council hosted the information meeting to brief business owners on traffic management arrangements for the event which will get underway on August 14th.
While a series of full and partial road closures are planned for the event, the Fleadh organising committee says its happy that both the towns businesses and motorists will understand that need for the traffic restrictions.
Up to 200 people attended last nights briefing in Ennis to hear details of the plan which will be implemented in the town for the world’s biggest Irish traditional music festival comes to the county town.
The details had already formed part of the Fleadh’s rent licence application however, last night business people had an opportunity to raise any questions or concerns they had.
As many as 400,000 people are expected to pack the streets of the county town for the eagerly anticipated event.
Ennis Chamber of Commerce CEO Rita McInerney believes that businesses see the potential for additional trade during the event and long afterwards too.
