TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd will have to make further information available to Clare County Council before a decision will be made on a planning application for works proposed for the beaches adjacent to Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg.
Trump International Golf Links want to undertake works at Doughmore Beach which is located at the edge of the Greg Norma designed golf course at Doonbeg.
Two previous applications to carry out coastal protection works were withdrawn by the company in 2014 and 2016 while a new planning application was lodged with the local authority in December.
According to the planning application lodged with Clare County Council, the company has stated that the proposed development would comprise “coastal erosion management works at, and adjacent to, Carrowmore Dunes, White Strand, Doughmore Bay and Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, Doonbeg, Co. Clare. The development includes the provision of two new protection structures at the dunes.”
As of yesterday, according to the ‘decision process indicator’ available to view on the council’s website, the local is seeking ‘further information’ from the company regarding the proposed development.
For now though, a decision on the application remains ‘on hold’.
