As part of the Green Fleadh initiative, two environmental workshops for children will take place in the Sports Hall of Rice College Ennis on August 16th and 17th.
Hosted by the Environmental Section of Clare County Council the workshops form part of the Green Fleadh initiative, a commitment by the Fleadh Committee to ensure that Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Inis 2016 has minimum impact on the environment.
The Rubbish Monster Puppet Show, a free 45-minute puppet show that teaches the basics of recycling and litter awareness, will take place at midday and at 2.00 pm on Tuesday 16th August. The show is suitable for children of all ages and no booking is required.
Clare County Council will host a Musical Instrument Workshop for children aged 10 to 14 on Wednesday 17th August from 11am to 1pm. Participants (up to a maximum of 30 children) will join Captain Von Tap as they experience hands-on music making through singing and the use of novel, specially-constructed instruments made from plumbers pipes and other unwanted waste material.
