The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is asking for blood donors to attend clinics in Ennis today (Monday 29th) and tomorrow (Tuesday 30th), following a drop in donations over the Christmas period.
Blood supplies typically fall after the festive season, but hospital demand remains constant, with patients continuing to rely on life-saving blood for cancer treatment, surgery, emergency care, and maternity services.
Clinics are taking place at the:
West County Hotel, Ennis
Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th December
1:50pm to 5:10pm on both days.
Phone 1800 222 111 for Appointment.
New Donors are always welcome
Local support this week is particularly important to help rebuild stocks and protect hospital services into the New Year.
Broadford based Recruitment Executive Alex O’Connor of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service said: “Every Christmas we see a gap in donations, but the need for blood in our hospitals does not pause. We are asking anyone who is able to give blood in Ennis this week to please come forward — taking under an hour can make a real difference for patients.”
The IBTS would be grateful for any coverage or on-air mention to help raise awareness locally.
