Search in North Clare for man reported missing

A search is continuing in North Clare for a man reported missing at the weekend.

It’s understood that the Jack Boddy from Limerick was last seen in the early hours of Sunday in Lahinch and his family are said to be ‘extremely concerned’ for his wellbeing.

An appeal on Facebook advised that a search would begin this morning at 6.30am from Hanrahan’s Cross at Moy on the outskirts of Lahinch.

The Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard, Clare Civil Defence and the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter are involved in the operation.

In the Facebook appeal for help, a post reads: “Anyone with information on Jack’s whereabouts is asked to contact An Garda Síochána or to phone 083-830-0767.”

Rescue 115 has been carrying out sweeps of the coastline and inland areas while members of the public have been walking the local roads in search of any trace of the man.

Doolin Coast Guard and Clare Civil Defence have dispatched land search and drone teams to the area.

The search is continuing.
