An Ennis pharmacy group has beaten 51 others across Ireland to win ‘Haven Pharmacy of the year’ in the third Haven Pharmacy Awards.
Haven Pharmacy Hollys in Ennis – a 9am-9pm pharmacy which has been based on Abbey Street since 1981 – is part of a family-run group which also operates a pharmacy in Ballinasloe along with one in Lisbaun, Co Galway.
The award was presented at a gala dinner hosted by RTE presenter Brian Ormond and attended by over 400 pharmacists, staffs and employees of the Haven Pharmacy Co-operative along with industry and trade guests.
Haven Pharmacy Holly’s achieved the highest score in Mystery Shopper audits at their Lisbaun branch which looked at all aspects of the pharmacy experience including application of Haven branding, level of customer service, execution of Haven Top Five promotions.
Commenting on the win owner Frank Holly said: “We were very happy to have done so well and it couldn’t have happened without our customers. We are very proud of our brand and everything our co-operative has achieved in such a short space of time, and it is a recognition of our exceptional staff who have built a strong relationship with all our customers. Thanks to our customers we have more than exceeded all expectations!”
The Haven Pharmacy awards were held for the third time this year following the successful roll-out of the brand across the country in December 2014. Regular health checks, patient information and consultation, literature and health interventions, along with regular price-friendly promotions form a major part of the overall brand offer and the co-operative is planning to introduce more health screenings in pharmacy and regular health talks.
Haven Pharmacy is now the leading, fastest growing independent co-operative pharmacy group in Ireland– and one of the largest dispensers of medicines in Ireland. They are the only pharmacy group created by pharmacists, owned by pharmacists and led by pharmacists. There are almost 50 pharmacies in the group, over 100 pharmacists and over 400 staff.
