One person has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis this morning.
The crash occurred on the R469 Ennis to Quin road at Ballaghboy Cross at around 9.30am and involved a car and a truck.
Gardaí and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the scene followed later by an ambulance and advanced paramedic response car.
The road was closed for a time while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The male driver of the car was cared for by fire service first responders until ambulance paramedics arrived. The man was then handed into the care of the National Ambulance Service and removed to hospital for treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
The scene has since been cleared and the road fully reopened.
