Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Wind Warning for coastal counties including Clare.
The weather service has also issued a Status Yellow Gale Warning for Irish coastal waters.
The Wind warning is for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford
According to Met Éireann: “A period of strong and blustery northwest winds will develop later Saturday, starting along the Atlantic Seaboard and extending to other coastal counties overnight. High seas expected also.
Northwest winds, mean speeds 55 to 65 km/h, giving gusts between 90 and 110 km/h. The strongest of the winds will be in exposed coastal locations, where winds may temporarily exceed these values.”
The warning, issued this morning, is valid until from 8.00pm on Saturday (26th) until 9.00am on Sunday (27th).
Status Yellow – Gale Warning
Southwest winds will increase to gale force on Saturday morning on Irish coastal waters from Mizen Head to Loop Head to Erris Head.
