Gardaí publish traffic plan for Spancilhill Fair

Gardaí have published details of a traffic management plan which will be put in place for this year’s Spancilhill Fair today.

The fair will take place in the usual ‘Fair Field’ in Spancilhill village on the R352, just off the main Ennis to Tulla road, approximately 7km from Ennis town.

Gardaí say there will be parking available at various sites in the area.

Motorists are advised…

*If you are travelling from Ennis, park at Car Park No. 1 (opposite Duggan’s Pub) on the Tulla road.

*If you are travelling from east Clare, traffic will be diverted at Norrie Henchy’s, left toward Moyriesk Cross. Vehicles with trailers will be directed to Green road. Vehicles without trailers will be directed to Car Park No. 2.

*Vehicles with horse trailers will be directed to Spancilhill Cross for Car Parks No. 3 and No. 4.

*If you are travelling from Crusheen/ Gort, park at Car Park No. 5

Stewards will be on site assisting traffic management to the relevant car parks.

Traffic Diversions

Traffic diversions will be in place around Spancilhill village. All motorists should travel at a reduced speed in the vicinity of Spancilhill junction and along the Tulla road.

Please follow the diversion routes which will be marked by signs.

*Motorists travelling from the east Clare/ Tulla direction (except buses) will be diverted at Norrie Henchy’s toward Moyriesk Cross and directed back towards Ennis.

*Motorists travelling from Doora to east Clare will be diverted at Moyriesk Cross onto Green Road, then turn right onto Tulla road towards Clooney village/ east Clare.

Gardaí say that there will be no on-road parking available and that any offending vehicles found to be parked in contravention of parking zones may incur a FCPN and/ or will be towed.
