Flooding has been reported across the county hours before a Status Yellow Rain Warning for Clare comes into effect.
Flooding and surface water have been reported in and around Ennis including Ballybeg, Kilrush Road, Tulla Road and Clon Road.
Met Éireann has issued a rain warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Galway and all of Munster including Clare with effect from 9.00pm today (Friday). The warning will remain in place until 5.00am on Saturday.
Forecasters say ‘heavy rain and a few thundery downpours may result in spot flooding.’
Meanwhile, a Small Craft Warning for Irish waters from Roche’s Point to Loop Head to Bloody Foreland. This will remain in effect from 9.00pm Friday until 5.00am on Saturday.
A Status Yellow Gale Warning has also been issued for Irish waters from Roche’s Point to Valentia to Slyne Head where north to northwest winds will reach gale force 8. The warning period is 11.00pm Friday until 8.00am Saturday.
