Met Éireann has issued a low-level wind warning for several western counties including Clare.
Forecasters are warning of strong and gusty westerly winds which could result in difficult travelling conditions while debris and/or loose objects could be displaced.
The warning will take effect from 9.00pm (Sunday) and remain in place until 6.00am on Monday. The other affected counties are Kerry, Galway and Mayo.
While no rain warning has been issued, parts of the county have experienced heavy downpours over the past 48 hours. The heavy showers seen this morning will however gradually die out through the afternoon and evening, with more widespread sunny spells developing.
Flooding has been reported in several areas across Clare while surface water could also be an issue on some routes. Motorists are asked to travel with care.
Met Éireann says Saturday night will start mostly dry with clear spells and isolated showers. Cloud will thicken in the west and south overnight, with rain developing in the southwest by morning.
Overview:
Unsettled next week with strong winds at times and spells of heavy rain and showers.
Sunday
Breezy or windy tonight, especially in the west and southwest. Wet too with widespread showers or longer spells of rain, heaviest in the north and west. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with strong and gusty westerly winds and onshore gales in the west and southwest.
