Met Éireann warns of windy conditions on Tuesday

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Wind Warning for Clare and a number of other western counties.

The alert will come into effect at 5.00pm today (Tuesday) and remain in place until midnight.

Forecasters say it will become increasingly windy with very strong and very gusty westerly winds.

The potential impacts of the conditions include fallen trees and branches; difficult travel; large coastal waves and potentially damaging gusts.

Forecast:

Tuesday Night: Staying rather wet and unsettled with showers widespread throughout and fresh to strong northwesterly winds. Some of the showers may turn wintry, especially on higher ground with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees.
