Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for several western counties including Clare, Kerry, Galway and Mayo.
Low pressure is currently dominating Ireland’s weather, bringing unsettled conditions with rain, showers and blustery winds at times.
Forecasters say we can expect persistent rain, turning heavy at times and are warning of possible localised flooding; difficult travel conditions and poor visibility.
The warning will coming into effect at 8.00pm on Sunday and remain in place until 8.00pn on Monday.
On Sunday night, rain will affect all areas. It will be heavy at times and will become more showery in nature overnight. Mild with lowest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with fresh to strong southwesterly winds.
On Monday, there will be further spells of rain, heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees with fresh to strong southwesterly winds. On Monday night, rain will continue for a time, but will mostly clear overnight with showers following from the west. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with fresh southwesterly winds.
Tuesday will bring sunshine and showers, which will gradually die out through the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with moderate southwest breezes.
Tuesday night will start off mainly dry. However, rain will develop in the south and spread northwards overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees with light to moderate southeast winds.
