Motorists are being advised to travel with caution this morning following an overnight drop in temperatures.
A number of road traffic collisions have been reported with pathways in Ennis town centre are also reported to in a dangerous condition.
*Motorists are reporting that the R460 Corofin to Gort Road is also in a dangerous condition with a number of vehicles leaving the road already.
*Roads and pathways around the DeValera Library in Ennis are very icy. Staff at the library are advising anyone planning to visit the library to avoid travel until safe to do so.
*Newpark Road (between the Tulla Road and Gauras) is in a poor state.
*The roundabout at Barefield on the R458 Ennis to Gort road is reported to be in a dangerous condition.
*The L4104 between Moyriesk and Clooney on the R352 is also said to be dangerous.
*Vehicles are reported to be ‘crawling’ on the R462 Kilmurry to Sixmilebridge.
Road users and pedestrians are advised to travel with care this morning.
The forecast is for any frost and ice to clear this morning and apart from a few isolated showers it’ll be dry, with some sunny spells for a time.
It’ll become increasingly cloudy from the west, with rain and drizzle spreading eastwards in the afternoon and early evening.
Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, in mostly light southwest or variable winds, becoming south to southeast later and freshening a little further west.
