Update:
Saturday, 12.02pm – Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for Clare for Sunday as Storm Fergus follows hot on the heels of Storm Elin.
A Status Yellow warning, associated with Storm Elin, is already in place for the county today (Saturday) and is due to expire at 6.00pm.
However, the new Status Orange wind warning will come into effect at 3.00pm on Sunday and remain in place until 8.00pm (Sunday)
Forecasters are warning of very strong onshore winds due to Storm Fergus, coupled with high waves and high tides which could result in localised coastal flooding and wave overtopping.
The Status Orange warning will affect counties Clare, Galway, Mayo.
Met Éireann has issued multiple weather warnings as Storm Elin approaches Ireland.
A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Clare, the third this week.
Met Éireann says we can expect Strong and gusty west to northwest winds with the potential for wave over-topping.
The warning also affects Tipperary and all of Connacht.
Status Orange wind warnings have also been issued for the northwestern and eastern parts of the country.
The latest wind warning for Clare will remain in place until 6.00pm this evening (Saturday).
