Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for several counties including Clare.
The weather service says it will be very windy for a time today with southeast winds gusting up to 100km/h in some areas.
Potential impacts include:
• Difficult travelling conditions
• Fallen branches, weakened trees
The wind warning came into effect at 10.20am and will remain in place until 4.00pm today.
The other affected counties are Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Today
Today will be cloudy, wet and windy. Patchy rain and drizzle early this morning, turning more persistent for the rest of the day. The rain will be heavy at times and may cause spot flooding. Thunderstorms are possible too. Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds, very strong for a time in the southwest.
Tonight
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle but more persistent rain will develop in the southwest again towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in a light to moderate south to southeast wind at first but freshening later.
Tomorrow (Thursday)
Tomorrow will be windy and it will be wet during the morning, with spot flooding possible. The rain will be followed by clear spells and scattered showers for the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty south to southwest winds, becoming very strong in the southwest.
