Two bloggers from Co Clare have been shortlisted in the annual Beauty Blog Awards.
Patrick Mongovan has been nominated in the best Male Influencer and best Lifestyle Influencer categories while Adrienne Nugent has been nominated for the Best Fashion Influencer award.
23-year-old Patrick from Quilty said: “I set up my blog about a year ago (www.patrickmungovan.com) as a way to write about the daily things in my life. I have been getting great feedback from my followers about my blog and many well wishes from my followers. I first started out by posting videos to my Facebook like page so I decided it would be good to write about the things that I would normally post videos about.”
Patrick works as a swimming instructor in the family-owned swimming pool (www.quiltycottages.com). He has always had a big interest in social media and has gathered quite a few thousand followers between Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram.
“It means so much for us both to be up for these awards, and even better that we are both from west Clare! It will be such an honour to attend the awards night and get to meet all of the other bloggers and Social media influencers. ,” Patrick said.
Adrienne Nugent said: “I set up Hot Right Now Blog up around five years ago as a way of sharing relevant, affordable fashion and beauty products that were currently on the market. I wanted to create a page that would be incredibly honest and forthcoming on all beauty matters, not only saying what products I found to be amazing but too what failed to meet my expectations.”
“I feel the root of my blog’s growth has been my desire to always deliver an unbiased opinion which my followers appreciate. I absolutely love high street fashion stores and I get a great sense of satisfaction when followers ask for my advice when seeking an outfit for a special occasion because they know I will always try to source lovely pieces to suit their budget,” she added.
“Snapchat and Instagram have played a vital role too as they have afforded me the opportunity to share my daily life with my followers which they can relate to. I have a very loyal following who have supported me immensely since I was first longlisted for the competition. It is great to be able to share this experience with a fellow West Clare person; Patrick has attended the awards previously so it is fantastic to have him there on the night too, representing the county,” Adrienne said.
