Like many organisations, Clare Youth Service is getting used to providing its service in the great outdoors and the Fair Green has become their latest base with a new Pop-Up Youth Café last Saturday.
The event was open to all young people and provided refreshments, activities, games and most importantly an opportunity for young people to engage with each other and Clare Youth Service staff.
CYS CEO, Margaret Slattery explains that outdoor work has been part of the CYS agenda for many years but it has increased in recent months: “Outdoor work and pop-up provision has always been central to youth work as we try to meet young people where they are at and make ourselves available and accessible.
“Events like the Pop-Up Café allow young people to engage with the Service in a direct way and find out more about what programmes and services are on offer in their area.
“All activities are staffed by trained, Garda-vetted Youth Workers who carry ID and observe current public health guidelines. Feedback from participants is that they enjoyed the Fair Green event greatly and that they value these opportunities.”
Expect more pop-up events around the county from the Clare Youth Service team who are clearly identifiable by their distinct Blue Hoodies and Navy Jackets.
The next Pop-Up Café in the Fairgreen is planned for Saturday the 10th July. Please contact Rachel on 085 8726293 or youthinformation@clareyouthservice for more details.
