While a place in the All-Ireland Intermediate Ladies Football Final on the line, Clare are focusing their attention on revenge.

Today they come up against Tipperary, a side that snatched victory from their gloves in the Munster Final played this July. Forty eight days later and the opportunity to atone for that three point loss has been presented to Neil Moynihan’s side.

Laurie Ryan captains the Clare team from full-back and revenge is certainly on her mind. “I think we kind of let ourselves go in the second half that match and since then we’ve been looking at this match saying ‘if we can get over Limerick’ that we’d have a chance of playing Tipp again and that’s what we’ve been looking forward to and the fact they beat us in the Munster Final is a big motivation for us”.

Although they are a young team Ryan doesn’t feel they will be affected by playing in an All-Ireland semi-final. Their work ethic is something she believes will be influential come the throw-in time of 3:15pm.

It’s where Clare wanted to be according to the Banner Ladies club member. “This is where you want to be at the start of the year and we’re delighted we got here especially after the Munster Final we just wanted to get back on track and try get to where we are now”.
