Clare have lost out to Tipperary in the Munster Minor Camogie Final.
Tipperary 4-12
Clare 2-09
Venue: Garryspillane
A blistering first half from All-Ireland Champions Tipperary sent them on their way to securing the provincial crown on Wednesday evening. Sinead Meagher netted a hat-trick inside the opening half as the Premier County made the most of a strong breeze to lead 3-09 1-02 at half-time.
It was a mountain for Clare to climb in the second half but they did it admirably as they outscored Tipp 8-4 but ultimately it wasn’t enough to stop a very strong outfit from adding to their remarkable season.
Doireann Murphy was the first player for the Banner County to register a score and it was a green flag on the sixteenth minute. However at this stage Tipperary had already clocked up a tally of 2-06. Feakle’s Regan Conway pointed two placed balls but Tipp kept plugging with Meagher completing her hat-trick on the stroke of half-time.
Roisin Begley set the standard for the Dervilla Moloney managed side after the resumption with an early goal as they began their comeback. They were dealt a blow as Meagher responded immediately with a green flag. While Laura Foley, Conway and Laura McGrath all added to their account it wasn’t enough to overturn the damage of the first half.
