Ennis RFC has announced that plans to introduce girls rugby to the club for this upcoming season.
A spokesman said that the club hopes to develop teams at U15 and U18 level.
“Rugby is a very inclusive sport and a great way to build confidence and obviously for teenagers to get active. We’d love to hear from any parent or potential player who would like to come up for a look or learn more about our plans to develop girls rugby in Ennis,” he said.
“After the recent success or our underage boys teams, we’ve been approached by a number of girls who said there should be a team for females. Hopefully there’ll be a good uptake and we can build something exciting.”
Pre-season training for girls rugby at Ennis Rugby Club begins in August and anybody between the ages of 13 and 18 is welcome to join.
