Having lost the same fixture last season, the Munster Junior division 2 side set about serving up some revenge by storming into a first-half lead despite playing into a stiff wind.
At the half-time break Ennis led 9-3 thanks to the boot of outhalf Shane Galvin, who as well as landing three first-half penalties contributed with a bright all-round performance.
Ennis came flying out of the blocks in the second half and continued to dominate territory, which was converted into a try by No 8 Damien Forde. The try came after sustained pressure and a number of phases of play, with Davy Murphy at scrum-half conducting proceedings behind the dominant Ennis pack.
However they did enough to stem the tide and hold out for their first home win of the season. The win comes off the back of an opening day loss away to Youghal last week.
