Féile Focus: Truagh/Clonlara

Truagh Clonlara Féile [4431946]Truagh/Clonlara will compete in the Regional Féile this weekend, Brid MacNamara sees how preparations have been going.

Club Name: Truagh/Clonlara
Club formed in what year: Truagh Clonlara is based on the Limerick Clare Border, the club was established over 25 years ago. There is a huge Camogie & Hurling community with many of our senior players lining out on for the County.
Number of underage members: Club has over 110 underage members.
Féile Team Mentors: Jill Dilmaq & Ray McMahon. This is Jill’s second time at the helm for Féile, having taken our girls to Galway Féile in 2015.
Féile venue: Kilkenny
Are the players looking forward to Féile? Yes the girls are looking forward to the Féile and are excited to compete against clubs from different places
How have the team been preparing? Preparations are well underway with focus on fitness and team building and ensuring it is as memorable and enjoyable as in previous years we have participated.
What has been local reaction to the team going to Féile? We hold many fundraisers during the year and parents are very happy to donate directly to help the club pay for travel etc.
How de ye hope to get on in Féile? Everybody wants to win of course! Our girls are hoping to show off their skills and experience in their matches
Do ye think the Regional Blitzes are good for the development of Féile? Regional Blitzes are a favourite with our girls and this goes down to the younger girls who look forward to reaching this age group in order to participate.
Does attending Féile help raise your Club profile locally? Féile raises huge interest in our neighbourhood and we enjoyed hosting one of the rounds.
