Limerick manager TJ Ryan is sweating on the fitness of key attacker Cian Lynch ahead of Saturday’s knockout tie with Clare at Semple Stadium.

A hamstring injury kept the Patrickswell starlet out of the Treaty County’s nine point over Westmeath in Mullingar last Saturday. The Limerick Leader reports that Lynch is still a major doubt for this weekend’s clash with Clare.

The twenty year old burst onto the inter-county scene in his championship debut versus Clare in the 2015 Munster quarter-final scoring 0-03 from play and earning himself the man of the match award.

He will continue to receive treatment over the coming days but it is expected that he will feature this weekend. Corner-back Seanie O’Brien is ruled out of the contest through suspension, he was shown a straight red card by Alan Kelly in their victory over Westmeath and the Limerick County Board did not appeal the decision.
