Two of the county’s finest handballers faced off in the last sixteen tie at the John Gaffney Memorial Open on Saturday afternoon.
Tuamgraney’s Diarmaid Nash recorded a narrow 21-20 21-19 victory over Kilkishen’s Colin Crehan at Ballaghaderreen. The first of their games can be viewed above, footage courtesy of GAA Handball.
Crehan overcame the challenge of Tyrone’s Sean Kerr 21-7 21-12 to set up the clash with Nash who had received a bye into the last sixteen.
After taking a year away from the handball court, Diarmaid a former All-Ireland finalist now faces Armagh’s Charles Shanks at 8pm on Saturday evening with the winner advancing to the semi-finals.
