The East Clare u15s were presented with their development squad training gear recently at the Clare GAA Centre of Excellence in Caherlohan.
Clare Senior players Conor McGrath, Oisin O’Brien, Peter Duggan and Seadna Morey took time out to present the players with their Club Clare sponsored gear and to speak with the squad about their experiences and advice on a range of topics such as hydration, nutrition, adhering to the correct Strength and Conditioning techniques and the importance of working continuously on their hurling.
Clare development officer and Club Clare Committee Member Peter Casey said: “It was also interesting to hear from the senior players about how different players developed at very different ages in their development from teenagers into adulthood, with some of the current stars not making underage teams at development squad or minor stage but flourishing as u21 and senior level.”
“The senior players imparted some tremendous advice and insights for these young players. Many thanks to the lads for giving of their time and thanks to Club Clare who contribute to the finances that fund the playing gear for these development squads,” Peter added.
