Newmarket Celtic have been handed a home fixture in the sixth round of the FAI Junior Cup.
Fresh from their win on penalties against Dublin AUL club Augnier Celtic, Newmarket will welcome Killarney Celtic to the McDonough Memorial Park for the last thirty two clash which takes place on the weekend of January 14th 2017.
Killarney overcame the challenge of fancied Galway outfit Mervue Utd 1-0 with Gary Keane netting the all-important goal from the penalty spot on the seventy ninth minute.
Managed Mike O’Malley, Newmarket reached the quarter-finals of the competition last season bowing out to Limerick club Janesboro FC. They are the only Clare club left in the competition. Killarney on the other hand were knocked out of the competition in the fourth round by Rathkeale FC last year.
A potential clash between reigning champions Sheriff YC and Tipperary giants St Michaels stands out as the tie of the round.
